Top female mountain bikers Hanlie Booyens and Sharon Laws will ride for Food Lover’s Market at the 2013 FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike (MTB) Race the weekend of 08 – 10 November 2013.

Booyens placed 1st in the women’s team category of the FNB W2W MTB Race in 2012 when she teamed up with Yolande Speedy.  “I have not missed a FNB W2W event yet,” says a very devoted Booyens.  “If I can help it this will be the one event that I’ll come back to until the day that I can no longer ride my bike.  FNB W2W has the best routes, the best food and the best organization.  The pressure of defending a title has diminished with age.  I ride for the love of it, as hard as my body and training permits.  Good results are a bonus that I appreciate and enjoy, but never expect.  Unfortunately Yolande Speedy has sponsorship commitments so we are unable to ride together again this year.  On the other hand, I know Sharon very well and we are great friends, riding together will be a fantastic opportunity.  The overall experience at the FNB W2W is second to none and because it is a ‘home’ race it feels like a big family reunion,” says Booyens.

Mitchell's Brewery

Mitchell’s Brewery was started in 1983 in Knysna by Lex Mitchell. He started off brewing only Forester’s Lager and Bosun’s Bitter to be distributed in Knysna. Our current brewmaster, Dave McRae, started brewing for Mitchell’s in 1984. Since then five beers have been added to our repertoire and are distributed nationally. This year a pure apple cider joins the Mitchell’s Brewery stable.

Our beers are completely natural, made with 100% barley, water, hops and yeast and contain no artificial preservatives or chemicals.

Karusa Craft Brewery

Karusa not only produces fine wine, but is also credited by pioneering the first full grain microbrewery in the Klein Karoo.

With the seasonality of the winemaking process, it gave way for time and space to produce craft beer for the big volume of European tourists that flock to Oudtshoorn. The soft fresh and unpolluted water from the Swartberg catchment area proved to be perfect for clean, clinical, fruit driven and refreshing styles of Ale produced at Karusa.

Jack Black Beer

Jack Black Brewing Company is a Cape Town based craft beer company established in 2007 to bring South Africans the kind of beer they deserve. Inspired by traditional recipes from America to England, our beers are crafted in small batches with care - the way beer was meant to be brewed. Currently our beers are widely available in Cape Town, but we're slowly changing this, one pint at a time.
