Gallows Hill Brewing Co

Gallows Hill Brewing Co. aims to produce small batch, full-bodied, hop filled, more flavourful, all natural & interesting beer of exceptional quality to discerning palettes.

Beer used to be unique and positive part of communities. Unfortunately this disappeared thanks to the marketing & volume driven approach adopted by some of the mega-brewers.

Gallows Hill Brewing Co. beers are all virtually handmade from an all-malt mash in our handcrafted brewhouse - an example of the simple, traditional brewing methods of old.

Everson's Cider

Everson’s Cider is an original, premium dry cider, handcrafted by garagiste winemaker and now extraordinary cider-maker William Everson, in the Grabouw / Elgin valley. Everson’s Cider is a refreshing alternative to ordinary beverages, as there is no added cane sugar or other synthetic ingredients, which ensures that the cider is pure, fresh and real.

Everson’s Cider is a genuine artisanal product and is made in two formats, a pure apple cider, and a pear cider (Perry). Everson's Cider contains no synthetic additives or preservatives, contains nominal natural fruit sulphites, and both varieties have approximately 5% alcohol by volume. Everson's pear and apple cider is available in 340ml bottles, on tap as a draft cider at selected outlets, currently making it the only genuine apple cider and Perry on tap available in the country, and is also available in limited amounts in a of 750ml crown capped bottle.

The apple cider is handcrafted from up to five different kinds of apple varietals from the region, which are crushed and the resultant juice is properly fermented and carefully prepared in the original method of cider-making, with French wine yeast and aged on oak staves.

A crisp, light and dry cider, Everson's has a good apple aroma and a slight hint of oak, making this the perfect accompaniment to curries, fish and chicken dishes. Everson's Cider Apple is especially excellent for pairing with pork and lamb, and is even used in the cooking process for sauces and basting.

The Pear Cider (Perry) is made from a selection of the best pears available in the Western Cape. More aromatic than the apple cider, the Perry has a distinct flavour unlike any other and pairs easily with most meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes.

Devil's Peak Brewing

In addition to producing your favourite Devil’s Peak beers, our brewery in Salt River also doubles as the best place in town to drink them! With a stunning view of our namesake, the Taproom is serving up delicious food and DPBC beer to locals and visitors alike. Mid week lunch and dinner, Friday night out or Saturday sport – we’ve got you covered.

The name was chosen to firmly root the brand in Cape Town. While we will be producing mostly US and Belgian styled beers, we will be injecting a local flair. Devil’s Peak is a geological landmark steeped in myth. It has a strong authenticity and sense of place. It is iconic in the minds of all of those who have come to experience it, which is what DPBC is striving for.

Boston Breweries

The Brewery is situated in the bustling business district of Paarden Eiland, Cape Town. It recently underwent a massive upgrade with its capacity doubled. This means more of the golden nectar flows from its tanks on a daily basis. We no longer do brewery tours and have replaced it with a purpose built Tasting Room situated in the Cape Quarter. Plenty of good beer available, expertly served from 10 taps.

We recently commissioned a 7.2KW solar pilot project. The system consists of 24 locally manufactured 300W Solair solar panels and produces 14500 KW/Hours of electricity per year, roughly 10% of our energy needs, saving just under 15 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

We always felt the need for our Craft Beers to be enjoyed in a relaxed and appropriate atmosphere. We then decided to close our usual Brewery Tours and setup a dedicated Tasting Room nearby. The Cape Quarter provided just that space and is conveniently situated not too far from the Brewery.

The venue often accommodates small or large bookings with an atmospheric warmth and ambiance through clever architectural planning and design. The fusion of eco-friendly materials creates a down to earth yet stylish setting, offset by the new classics from Pierre Cronje. The European style and eco conscious Village Market every Wednesday and Sunday, at The Cape Quarter, has also seen the Market Bar become a main attraction for locals and tourists alike. The markets regular live music together with long antique wooden tables allows for the perfect atmosphere to sip on premium drinks paired with delicious meals from one of the market vendors. After works drinks from Wednesday through to Friday and lazy weekends has proven to be extremely popular with the locals along with a growing hip and trendy De Waterkant crowd. The Market Bar open 5 days a week! "we love company!"
