Storm Damage to Kay's Caravan Park

November 18, 2013 By:

The past weekend's storm left Kay's Caravan Park in Strand devastated. This morning, Michelle van den Bergh said, "We are fine. The camp is in utter devastation, but all survived. It's sad. We are home. We didn't lose our home or animals. Only damage to the garden and fencing and our foundation soil under our house has been washed away. Our bathroom flooded and our carpets inside are wet, but we were lucky. People have brought food and aid to many."

This via Animal Welfare Stellenbosch:

The already struggling residents of Kays Caravan Park, in Strand, have lost everything and are still in dire need of…... well, EVERYTHING!!

The reason why we so desperately want to help them is because of Petpals involvement. Petpals is a legit NPO who are very actively involved in this specific area promoting animal welfare & sterilizations, and they are trying their absolute darnest to assist the lesser fortunate community get back on their feet again.

These residents don’t have insurance pay-outs to help get their lives back on track again and they will hugely appreciate all your 2nd hand, unwanted items.

The needs-list:
Clothing (adult, teens, toddlers, baby, etc)
Bedding (pillows, duvets, etc)
Food (especially non-perishables)
Toiletries (soap, shampoo, ladies sanitary ware, ear-buds, razors, toothpaste, TOOTHBRUSHES, etc)
Kitchen items (cutlery, crockery, pots & pans, etc)
Pets (food, kennels, blankets, bowls, etc)

If you want to get into Santa’s good books, then now is your opportunity….

Stellenbosch Animal Welfare is a drop-off point in the Winelands and we (…or I, Carmen) will personally ensure that all donated goods are delivered to the people of Kays Caravan Park.
